Regent – Classes and Money
My Accounting English classes have been moved from 5:30-7:00 to 7:00-8:30 so as to allow me to take over Shaun’s PET English classes. This means that my normal guys have only a 7pm English class on Friday, which is unsatisfactory. So in light of this, they just cancelled/postponed the Friday classes while there is a conflict. Also, on that note, my business subject textbook still hasn’t arrived. We’ve now postponed those classes (meaning double accounting for the students, temporarily) until it arrives.
I got my first paycheque, which was about 3/4 of what I was expecting! It seems that my English for Accounting subject is supposed to be $12 per hour. I signed a contract for $15, but they somehow decided to pay me $10/hr! Aiyah!! Anyway, I wrote a memo to get it sorted out – I DO have a signed contract for $15/hr. On top of that, we’re getting taxed! (This is one of the VERY few schools that actually pays tax.) Fortunately the first $80 is tax free, so I didn’t get taxed much, but it all adds up.
It’s going to be a very poor month… methinks the visa is going to get ANOTHER hit – GRRRR! When am I going to be able to make enough to support myself, let alone save???
